(I'm not sure how the reaction will be for my proposal. I'm not even sure if this idea will get off the ground but it's worth a try.)
I've been thinking about this for a couple of days and I think I'm ready for the presentation.
I get harassed occasionally on DN, and it's not that bad, until it becomes a nuisance. Someone of a higher rating than me boasts about how good s/he is and how crap I am blah blah blah... There isn't really much I can do, and I thought about creating a hit list inside the academy.
This is how it works:
Any member in the academy may place a bounty on someone they've been harassed by. The bounty can be anywhere from 1 credit to 100,000 credits, but the player cannot have their bounty higher than whatever amount they have at the time (even if you're 100% sure you're getting more soon.) If you cannot pay the bounty, a penalty of 10% will be incurred for every day you do not pay. You MUST pay the bounty in full, no 5 easy payments of 100 credits or whatever.
Anyone can claim the bounty, as long as they think they're up for it. However, should you fail; you must inform the person who placed the bounty and pay them 10% of what they offered as a penalty.
When placing a bounty, your post must look like this:
Name of Player
Rating/EXP
Last time Online
Amount of Bounty
Getting the person to duel with you can’t be that hard. I mean, all you have to do is ask nicely. Works for almost anyone.
In order to confirm a bounty, you may do one of two things:
1. Watch the duel in person between the target and the hit man/woman.
2. Receive a screen capture of the duel where the target admits defeat and/or quits.
If possible, try to have more witnesses if the player that placed the bounty is absent.
Now for some rules:
1. You CANNOT place a bounty on anyone in the academy or planning on joining the academy, no matter how excruciatingly annoying they are.
2. You CANNOT say things like, “LOL you got owned so bad lolol” to the target after the duel.
3. Don’t mention the fact that they had a bounty place on their head and the guy was just dueling to claim it either.
4. No spamming. You can only place one bounty at a time, and cannot place another bounty until the first bounty has been claimed. Also you cannot make posts like, “OMG why isn’t anyone taking my bounty?????!!!?!” or “Pls take my bounty plsplsplsplsplsplsplspls” or anything stupid.
Now since this is really complicated, I think there should be a sub-forum just for the hit list. All bounties should be posted there and locked as soon as they are taken care of.
